Things to do in Amsterdam

Image
Amsterdam Every year, to celebrate my birthday, I travel somewhere, in 2019 I went to Morocco , in 2020 to Israel and this year (2022) I decided to visit Amsterdam. It was a long time since I wanted to visit this city and there I have a friend that I wanted to see, so with these three points combined, I decided to visit Amsterdam in winter. I spent five days in Amsterdam and I visited the city plus some places outside like Zaanse Schans, Zandvoort and Haarlem. One important thing is that I forgot my camera so all the pictures were taken with my phone, maybe the quality is not high but I think they are anyway beautiful. Amsterdam is the capital and the most populous city of the Netherlands, with a population close to a million. It is colloquially referred to as the "Venice of the north" due to the large number of canals which form a UNESCO world heritage site since 2010. Amsterdam was founded at the Amstel, the city's name derives from the Amstel dam, originating as a sm

Travel in Georgia First I want to say that this is about the country in the Caucasus region, on the Black sea, near Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Armenia, so if you were looking for a state in the USA you are in the wrong place. Still, I invite you to continue because you can see fantastic nature and read about an excellent adventure. I travelled to Georgia for two weeks in September visiting a big part of the country, this month is the end of the primary touristic season there. Moving from one place to another can be time-consuming if you use public transportation (marshrutka) or hitchhiking, but it can be authentic and interesting.  After my experience in  Kyrgyzstan  in 2021, I wanted to visit another ex-soviet country, I am interested in the background, culture and history of these countries and Georgia is the second of a long list. In this post I will talk about the east part of the country, the capital Tbilisi, the "city" of Uplistsikhe, Kakheti the wine region and Kaz

Kyrgyzstan, two months in central Asia

Bishkek Kyrgyzstan I had the opportunity to live in Bishkek for two months, while I was volunteering for a contemporary art association.  Those two months were very intense, and they literally flew between amazing people, wonderful landscapes and discovering a new culture. I think that what I brought with me from this experience are human relationships, Kyrgyz are smiling people, open to helping you and sharing their culture. I also found some parallelism between Kyrgyz and Italians (at least people from Bishkek), they have the same behaviour on the streets, they honk, they get angry, and they have their own rules. B' art contemporary organised a nomadic art camp from 2011 till 2019, my volunteer job was to organise it for 2021 but in the end, it wasn't possible because of the pandemic situation. The plan b was to do a series of workshops between expat artists in Bishkek and local artists, with an exhibition at the end of them. The time was not enough to fully concretise this
